Stealth Imaging Unveils H.264 Super-fast Laptop Video Processing Card at Apple Developer Conference. Read More... |
Casinos and gaming entertainment are not just about pleasure. Combined, they are a multi-billion dollar business and one of the fastest growing market segments in the world economy. At the same time, they represent an opportunity for "inside" crime, with one of the highest theft ratios per employee and customer in any industry. As a result, surveillance plays a crucial role in the day to day operations of the gaming industry. However, surveillance technology has not kept up with the demand for higher quality imagery, faster recording and more efficient analysis and management of the video data. The World Casino Protection Organization predicts that high definition (HD) video will be common within casino surveillance in five years, yet, to date, no surveillance vendor has committed to support this market demand. Some have even declared they have no plans to develop HD systems. As the industry's desire grows for standard definition (SD) professional-grade broadcast quality video (720x480, 30fps), the gaming businesses have shifted from analog to digital recording. So far, most vendors can only offer consumer-level webcam or security cam images. Stealth meets this demand in every aspect. Our products offer exceptional digital performance. Our encoder technology and video management software specifically answer the needs of the gaming industry for quality video, and the HD video surveillance required for the future. We support the market's current needs and will have HD surveillance products by Q2 2007–years ahead of the industry's timeline for implementing full-scale HD solutions. In addition to video display and management, Stealth is developing technology for object, shape and motion analysis used in casinos. For example, our systems will recognize playing cards (objects and shapes) and the order they occur on a gaming table. This is directly related to card counting and many other types of casino cheating that accounts for an estimated loss of 6% of the gross revenues of a casino operation. Stealth technology is interoperable with current video capture systems and will not require development of new hardware and software applications. |
